DR. MOSIER: I’m Dr. David Mosier and I’m in plastic and reconstructive surgery. I’ve been in practice in Austin since 1994. And I started the Plastic Surgery Center of Austin. Prior to starting my practice I completed my internship in New York and did five years of general surgery in Philadelphia. I did three years of plastic surgery training. And I’m board certified. I think it’s important to become board certified because these are tests that are taken by plastic surgeons that allow them to be the best that they possibly can in their field.
The reason why I went into plastic surgery is that plastic surgery, for me, was a challenging field. There are all sorts of procedures that are involved in plastic surgery. Every patient is different. And every time a patient walks into the room I look at them and make a decision as to what type of procedure I’m going to do and how I’m going to do that procedure.
When I was a resident in general surgery there were all different types of surgery that I practiced, but plastic surgery kind of caught my eye. And the reason why it caught my eye was that you could see your final results. And not only could I see it, but the patient could see it as well. And it gave not only me a great sense of satisfaction, but also gave my patients a great sense of satisfaction as well.
