Facial Cosmetic Surgery in Austin - BOTOX® Cosmetic, Facelift, Rhinoplasty, and More

At The Plastic Surgery Center of Austin, we offer facelift and other cosmetic procedures to create aesthetic harmony among facial features and reduce visible signs of aging. Neck lift, eyelid surgery, brow lift, cosmetic ear surgery, and rhinoplasty from our Austin practice are all effective ways to enhance and rejuvenate the appearance of the face.

Facelift - Rhytidectomy

Performed by our skilled surgeons at The Plastic Surgery Center of Austin, facelift can dramatically revitalize your facial appearance. Over time, aging, gravity, sun damage, and stress can cause the face to lose its youthful form and elasticity, resulting in the formation of deep creases, folds, wrinkling, laxity of the jaw line, and droopy cheeks. Fortunately, facelift allows for the youthful contours of the face to be restored.

The Facelift Procedure

At The Plastic Surgery Center of Austin, facelift, also called rhytidectomy, can improve the most visible signs of aging from the inside out by tightening the underlying muscles of the face, removing deposits of excess fat, and re-draping the facial skin, making it appear firmer and tighter. A facelift can be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift (brow lift), eyelid surgery, or rhinoplasty (nose reshaping surgery) for patients desiring more extensive facial rejuvenation.

Facelift Results - Supple, Smooth, and Natural

The aesthetic results of facelift depend upon skin thickness, the level of skin elasticity, and the patient’s unique facial structure. Most patients who come to The Plastic Surgery Center of Austin for facelift are extremely pleased with their results. Our skilled surgeons are careful to keep the results of this procedure looking natural by minimizing potential scarring and preventing the skin from being overly tightened. Patients emerge from this procedure looking youthful and refreshed, with an appearance that has been gracefully enhanced rather than dramatically changed. Rhinoplasty - Nose Reshaping Surgery

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to reshape the underlying structures of the nose to improve its overall appearance. As one of the most commonly requested surgical procedures, rhinoplasty at The Plastic Surgery Center of Austin can alter various characteristics of the nose to enhance the aesthetic balance of facial features and even improve breathing by straightening a deviated septum.

The Rhinoplasty Procedure

Rhinoplasty at our Austin practice can accomplish delicate refinements to the shape of the nose or a dramatic change, depending on the surgical goals of the patient. With the patient’s desired outcome in mind, our surgeon customizes each rhinoplasty to best suit the individual’s specific needs and goals. Using only the most innovative surgical techniques and his discerning artistic eye, he carefully adjusts the nose to a more complementary size and shape.

Rhinoplasty Results - Refined and Balanced

After post-surgical puffiness subsides, the new shape of the nose is truly revealed. Many rhinoplasty patients of our Austin practice are pleased to find that their nose results in a more refined and balanced profile that enhances the overall appearance of their facial features. Contact us for more information about rhinoplasty at The Plastic Surgery Center of Austin or to schedule a consultation with one of our plastic surgeons.

Neck Lift

Over time, the skin under the chin and along the neck begins to lose elasticity, which compromises its ability to conform to connective tissue and other underlying structures. This skin laxity can create the appearance of a double chin or saggy neck in even the most health conscious individuals. A neck lift is a surgical procedure designed to reduce excess skin, remove fat deposits, and tighten muscles of the neck to regain a youthful jaw line and a smoother, more slender neck.

The Neck Lift Procedure

The procedure begins with a few small incisions along the undersides of each ear and beneath the middle of the chin to reveal the muscles of the neck. At this point, the skin is separated from the underlying tissue, and fat deposits are removed using liposuction techniques. The muscles of the neck are then tightened and sutured into place to ensure long-lasting results before the skin is lifted and excess is snipped away. The incisions are closed carefully to minimize visible scarring.

Neck Lift Results - Slender and Youthful

Patients who have undergone neck lift at our practice often emerge looking years younger. Their necks appear tighter and longer, revealing a smooth jaw line. Neck lift is often performed in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures at our practice in Austin, such as facelift, BOTOX® Cosmetic therapy, eyelid surgery, or brow lift to achieve comprehensive facial rejuvenation. Contact us for more information about neck lift or to schedule a consultation with one of our surgeons.

Forehead Lift - Brow Lift

As we age, the forehead can begin to droop, forming deep creases between the brows, which can lead to an angry or tired looking appearance. Forehead lift surgery, also called brow lift, can raise the forehead to a more youthful position and reduce heaviness in the upper eye area.

The Brow Lift Procedure

Brow lift can be performed using one of two possible techniques. Depending on the case, our surgeon will either complete the brow lift utilizing orthoscopic implements or traditional brow lift techniques. Orthoscopic brow lift requires only a  few tiny incisions along the hairline through which specialized tools are inserted to carry out the surgical enhancements, eliminating the need for the traditional continuous incision along the hairline. In both versions of the procedure, dense muscle and connective tissue that have built up between the brows are removed to smooth and relax tight furrows. The forehead skin is also drawn upwards and excess is removed to restore youthful contours to the brow line.

Results of Forehead Lift - Refreshed and Relaxed

Our forehead lift patients often look years younger after surgery. The procedure effectively releases tension between the brows, alleviates drooping of the eyebrows and forehead skin, and dramatically reduces the appearance of both vertical and horizontal wrinkles in the region. In many cases, brow lift is performed in conjunction with other facial procedures such as eyelid surgery or facelift.

Eyelid Lift Surgery - Blepharoplasty

Eyelid lift surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a procedure designed to help patients reduce visible signs of aging from the delicate area surrounding the eyes. Due to the fragile composition of this region, the upper and lower eyelids are extremely sensitive to the effects of aging and environmental factors. Droopy, puffy eyelids can be quickly rejuvenated through this simple procedure at our Austin practice.

The Eyelid Lift Procedure

Depending on the areas in need of rejuvenation, the initial incision is either made along the lower lash line or the upper eyelid crease. Fat deposits, which cause puffiness, and droopy excess skin are removed and the incisions are closed with little or no subsequent scarring.

Results of Eyelid Lift - Bright, Rejuvenated Eyes

Many of our Austin area patients who have undergone blepharoplasty are amazed by the ease of the procedure and the relatively quick recovery time. Removing under-eye bags and lax skin gives worn or tired looking eyes a more refreshed, smooth, and youthful appearance. Cosmetic Ear Reshaping Procedures

Otoplasty - Ear Pinning

Otoplasty, also referred to as ear pinning, can be performed by our Austin area surgeons to alter the position, shape, and size of the ears. Individuals with prominent ears can undergo otoplasty to have the ears surgically repositioned to lie more flatly against the sides of the head. In this procedure, fatty deposits and cartilage structures that cause the appearance of oversized or irregularly formed ears are eliminated or sculpted through a small incision along the outside edge of the ear. After undergoing otoplasty, prominent ears appear more proportional and suitably positioned, making them far less noticeable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does PSCA file insurance for abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and/or brachioplasty (the removal of excess skin due to excessive weight loss)?

A: No. Some physicians' offices will file these procedures under insurance, but our office considers them strictly cosmetic.

Q: Does your office perform the gastric bypass procedure?

A: No. Only a general or bariatric surgeon is qualified to perform this procedure. After extreme weight loss, plastic surgery may be desired to remove excess skin and fat. Even though some insurance companies may cover abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and brachioplasty, our office considers these procedures to be strictly cosmetic.

Q: I was seen in the emergency room and the ER told me I need to see a specialist right away. Can I make an appointment?

A: The only way that we can see a patient within 48 hours is if one of our doctors was "on-call" at that particular ER on that particular day. Otherwise, we can only fit you in at our first availability. Unfortunately, availability may sometimes be several weeks away.

Q: Is there any possible way you can get me in sooner?

A: Considering that we are a specialist office, it is possible that we may be fully booked for up to one to three months in advance and we are normally "double-booked" up two weeks in advance, which would result in making it very difficult to obtain an appointment sooner. If this is an emergency, then the patient should go directly to an emergency room.

Q: What are your office hours?

A: Monday - Thursday (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM / 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM); Friday (8:00 AM - 1:00 PM). We are not open on weekends.

Q: What does "on-call" mean for plastic surgeons? What if I have received treatment from one of your plastic surgeons in the ER?

A: There are approximately 11 plastic surgeons in the Austin area that take turns being on-call for plastic surgery at all of the main Austin emergency rooms. If you are seen in the emergency room and you are referred to us for a follow-up, please call and make an appointment. Let us know the name of the physician who referred you to us, the name of the ER that referred you to our office, and the date on which you were seen in the ER. The plastic surgeon who is on call the day of your visit to the ER is responsible for your care. Please be aware, however, that you are ultimately responsible for fees associated with your follow-up care.
